Morvern Community Action Plan shortlisted for Scottish Planning Innovation Awards

‘Live Life Morvern’ community-led plan shortlisted for award

Last summer, The Scottish Government launched its new planning awards. These follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Scottish Awards for Quality in Planning, which spanned a 20 year history, running until 2019.

The 2023 Scottish Planning Innovation Awards (SPIA) focus on identifying and celebrating plans, projects and initiatives that are innovative in nature. The 2023 awards categories are: Sustainable; Productive; Liveable; Digital; and People.

We are pleased to share that Planning Aid Scotland has been short-listed for the 2023 SPIA in the ‘Sustainable’ category. ‘Live Life Morvern’ is our shortlisted project, a Community Vision and Action Plan developed and delivered in partnership with community in the Morvern peninsula. This community-led plan was constructed with sustainability and climate resilience at its core.

Announcing the shortlist, Minister of Local Government Empowerment & Planning, Joe FitzPatrick said: “This extremely strong short-list represents the pinnacle of innovative planning achievement in 2023.”

We’re pleased to see the wide range of other plans, projects and initiatives shortlisted from across Scotland and look forward to finding out more about them when the final winners are announced later in the spring.
