New Development Plan

The National Park area falls within five councils (Aberdeenshire, Angus, Highland, Moray and Perth & Kinross). Planning decisions are made with reference to the development plan of the appropriate council – with an agreement that CGNP can “call-in” planning applications which raise issues of significance for the national park (although not Perth & Kinross which is covered by its own local plan). Under the 2006 planning reforms, Local Authorities are required to produce a new kind of Development Plan. In CGNP a Local Development Plan for its entire area replaced the 2010 Local Plan.
