Community Engagement

Our approach to community engagement puts communities at the heart of the decision-making process.

  • Are you a community group looking to bring local people together to share ideas or work on a plan?

  • Are you a local authority looking to gather views from the community?

PAS has worked all over Scotland on community engagement and place-based projects. With our impartial outsider perspective and our commitment to all voices being heard, we help communities to have open and inclusive conversations, unlock ideas and articulate their visions.

We can provide advice and training to support your community to run its own processes, or work alongside you to deliver your projects. We work with community councils, community trusts, development trusts, local authorities and other public bodies.

Our services include:

Training

  • Place Standard Tool
  • Facilitation Skills
  • Creative engagement methods, digital and in person
  • Dealing with Conflict
  • Coding your data
  • SP=EED Verification in community engagement skills
  • Engagement strategies

Facilitation

  • Multi-stakeholder events

Project management

  • Local Place Plans, Community Action Plans, Active Travel Plans

We work on engagements of all shapes and sizes, from one off events to collaborations extending over a period of months, leading to the production of a community-owned plan. Our approaches are tailored to local circumstances and the outcomes you are looking to achieve, and we will build a specialist team for your project from our pool of experienced staff, associates and volunteers.

Our pricing depends on the scope and nature of the engagement. We can design according to your budget and advise on funding opportunities. As an educational charity we do not charge VAT.
